Home | Brockloch | Brockloch 1 | Crocketford | The Surrounding Area | The Village Hall Our Home When we first moved to this area we lived in our static caravan at a place called Sandgreen near to Gatehouse of Fleet, we eventually found a place for rent in the grounds of a large country house called Knockbrex. We rented one of the stables which had been converted into a very nice two bedroomed house within the stable block.
We spent a couple of years there but decided to move when we saw the advert for Brockloch Dairy Cottage, the cottage was as the name suggests the dairymans cottage but the farm has not produced milk for many years. The main activity now is sheep with a few Galloway cattle as a hobby for the farmer. The house is sited on a hill approximately 600 feet above sea level with superb views to the south and east which makes it ideal for playing radio. We also have access to over 100 acres of farm land to walk our dog "blackie" a black labrador cross, unfortunately Blackie died in July 2008 aged nearly fourteen and his ashes are now scattered on the hill above the house along with all the other farm dogs so he will have plenty of company up there. |
